Monthly Summary: April 2021

Welcome to yet another Monthly Summary here at gamergal.exe! I’ve been much more productive this month, seeing a handful of completions over different genres and I’ve invested much more time into larger games that are still ongoing. I’ve still been watching plenty of anime which will soon come in handy for my yearly month of AniMay, a whole month dedicated specifically towards anime, which will of course be taking place throughout May! Although I don’t look to have been very active recently, I’ve been working on a fair few posts in preparation for this annual event that I can’t wait to share with you all.

Before I get too ahead of myself, let’s take a look back at my progress during April:

The Steam Awards 2020: Nominations

The 1st of December marked the closing date for The Steam Awards nominations! This first stage required Steam users to nominate games released during 2020 for a number of different categories which I will list below with a short description alongside the game I chose. During the Winter Sale (which is usually between Christmas and New Year), users will be able to vote from a selection of the most popular games nominated for each category with the overall winners being announced on the 3rd of January.

There are a few extra categories this year which is unfortunate for me as I haven’t played even half as many new releases this year as I did last year (even though I completed nearly twice as many games). Without delaying it any further, here are my nominations for The Steam Awards 2020!

Monthly Summary: February 2020

“2020 is going to be the best year ever”, I say as I make a note of all the major plans I have for this year – the year I decide to step out of my comfort zone and do the things I’ve wanted to do for a while. Well, here we are 2 months later and this past week has been officially been the worst of my life.

Monthly Summary: December 2019

Welcome to my final post of 2019, and the final post of the decade! This is the last Monthly Summary of the year and as you’ll probably see from this post, I’ve been trying to finish a lot of games off to prepare for my fresh 2020 gaming quest! I’ve been looking forward to 2020 for such a long time now and I’m honestly excited to begin the year ahead. So let’s take a final look back at the events of December…

Monthly Summary: November 2019

It’s the last day of November which means it’s time for another monthly Summary. It’s scary to think that there’s only one month left of 2019… I still have so many things on my list of things to do and far too many games left to play with only a few weeks remaining. December is going to be a just month!

Monthly Summary: September 2019

September has been a mixed month overall. In some ways, I feel like this month for gaming has probably been the best so far this year, I feel like I’ve played loads! On the other hand, some awful stuff has happened in my personal life which has brought the month’s overall positivity down.

Upcoming 2019 Games [11:11] – The Subseries

The next few months are looking phenomenal for new releases and there are so many new games I have on my wishlist right now. I don’t think there’s ever been a year I’ve had my eye on so many new releases before, but obviously I won’t have time to play them all at once.

100% Game Completions [11:11]

Until last summer, I was never really bothered about Trophy Hunting. I always thought it was a waste of time, but I felt a huge sense of achievement after finishing a few games last year by gaining all the achievements. My views have recently changed and I now feel like getting all the achievements in a game means I’ve done everything the developers wanted the player to experience as well as being able to get more enjoyment out of a game once the story is over. This year, I seem to have prioritised 100% completion for those games I’ve really enjoyed rather than finishing a single playthrough and leaving it alone.

Update 6.8 is here with a whole new bunch of changes and new content. As the previous patch was the mid-season update, we can expect this patch to be a lot smaller with a few balance changes to the new items too. This update also includes the remaining content for the Battle for Olympus event including the long awaited T5 skin for Kukulkan, regular balance changes and a brand new God!

Smite: RWBY Crossover

Yesterday, Rooster Teeth announced their hit web series, RWBY, would be crossing over with the Free-to-play MOBA, Smite. The announcement Tweet didn’t initially give much away, but a few more details have come to light overnight.
