I heard a fair few mixed feelings about The Caligula Effect: Overdose on its release back in March, but since then I haven’t heard a peep so here I am reviewing my experience from April. I’d had my eye on the game a few months previous to release, ranking it 2nd on my Most Anticipated Games of the Year list, so I guess you could say I was intrigued – mainly due to the unique combat system and the strong presence of vocaloid music. I’ve not really taken much interest in JRPGs until recently and I’ve never actually got round to finishing one entirely… Until now!
There are plenty of truly wonderful gaming soundtracks out there which can contribute immensely to our personal gaming experiences. I see so many posts on Twitter about great OSTs whether it be appreciation posts, discussions or favourites lists; this topic is certainly a common one – with good reason. However, whenever I see talk of soundtracks, it always seems to be about how well they are written or how suited they are to the game. This is [11:11] after all, so I thought I’d address the topic with a slightly different outlook. As I have a musical background myself, the way music is used in gaming is a topic I’m particularly fond of, so I racked my brains to think of 11 games that have a unique type of soundtrack and / or use of music – the kind that incorporates into the game itself, or those that really go the extra mile to fit into the game’s requirements.
Can you even believe half of 2019 has gone already?! There’s so many games I want to play but so little time! The Steam Summer Sale is also live right now up until the 9th of July, so I’m sure I’ll be making some more purchases within the next week to add to the ever-growing backlog. As per usual, here’s what I’ve been up to this month:
With another month almost over, it’s time once again to review my monthly gaming progress for May. I’m tweaking the format for my Monthly Summary posts slightly from now on as I felt my categories were becoming a little repetitive. It hasn’t changed a great deal from before, but I’m hoping this will work out better in the long run.
I swear these months keep passing by faster. I’ve had a fairly interesting month in terms of gaming related stuff. I’ve been challenging myself by playing different types of games and I’m honestly loving it! I’ve also managed to play more with my boyfriend than I normally do during an average month which I think has helped with the positive gaming experience.
Welcome back to another Monthly Summary. There’s not a great deal to report on this month, but I still like to share what I’ve been up to. I’ve mainly been focusing on bigger games rather than playing a handful of smaller ones, so right now I don’t have a lot to show, but I do have plenty in process.
There are so many things I’m looking forward to this month! February was busy, but there’s so much stuff going on during March with new games coming out, launching a new blog series and things going off in my personal life too. In this post, I’d like to share with you what I’m looking forward to this month as well as introducing my new blogging series here too! So, here’s 11 things I’m excited for this month!
