Over the past few weeks, I’ve seen a new trend of fellow writers take on the recent “Have You Ever? The Gaming Edition” tag. I’ve read a fair few of these posts, including answers from Pix at Shoot the Rookie, Krista at LeeksPlays, and the tag creator herself – Michelle at A Geek Girl’s Guide. I thought it would be fun to answer these questions myself, but this time I also brought WesleyWhale along with me to spark up some conversation. So, let’s get started!
It’s all been very odd with the lockdown still in full force, but with businesses planning to open up again next month, it’s looking like things are moving forward in the UK, but I guess nobody really knows how it’s going to pan out. Meanwhile, from the shelter of my home (that I’ve only left 3 times to go on 3 short walks in the past 11 weeks), I’ve been putting a lot of hours into a variety of games – although I seem to really be enjoying visual novels this month. I’ve also noticed a trend in my gaming patterns that show I’m actually playing games that I’ve bought recently rather than letting them all gather virtual dust in my backlog!
So let’s take a look back at everything I’ve been up to during May:
This last month has been a very strange time for us all. I know a lot of people are finding the lockdown incredibly difficult, which is totally understandable, but I’m left feeling a little guilty for somewhat enjoying hiding myself away from the world. There’s no doubt I’m a complete shut in – I’ve only left the house on one occasion in the past 7 weeks and I’m not even beginning to feel stir crazy. Unfortunately, my boyfriend had to go back to work as an essential worker, so I’ve been hiding out in my family home for the past 4 weeks without seeing him (which has definitely been the worst part), however, we have been spending a lot more time gaming online together than usual.
I was recently nominated by Megan, A Geeky Gal, to participate in another blogging tag – 5 Games That Have Had The Biggest Impact On My Life! In this post, I will talk about the games that have been the most significant in my life thus far. I wrote a post recently on the Twitter trend “Games To Get To Know Me” in which I picked up on this topic already, so this time around I’ll be talking more about how the game has impacted me personally rather than talking about the actual games themselves. You can take a look at my “Games To Get To Know Me” post here if you’d like to hear more about the games in question.
Well, last month I said February was the worst month of my life… Now we have a winner! March has been a complete nightmare. I apologize for starting this post on a downer, but it gets better – I promise!
March is gamergal.exe’s birthday!
A lot has changed over the past few weeks due to the global Coronavirus pandemic – I’m sure you didn’t need me to tell you that. Whilst the news is plastered everywhere, it’s difficult to avoid the stress from it all, whether it be the virus itself, the panic buyers, or having to come in close proximity with those people who still fail to understand the act of basic hygiene. With a lockdown taking place in many countries – the UK now included – many people are now in self isolation, some of which are working from home. As someone who is used to working from the comfort of my own home, I know it can sometimes be difficult to concentrate with so many distractions around you – especially if you’re going to be committing to this abnormal routine regularly.
The annual T5 skin vote is here once again to decide which Smite God will receive this year’s T5 skin for the Odyssey 2021. The winning skin will be available as the ultimate reward during this year’s Odyssey which will be active from around September/October 2020 until January 2021. This seems to get earlier every year…
“2020 is going to be the best year ever”, I say as I make a note of all the major plans I have for this year – the year I decide to step out of my comfort zone and do the things I’ve wanted to do for a while. Well, here we are 2 months later and this past week has been officially been the worst of my life.
