Japanese Halloween Songs Playlist #2

Happy Hallowe’en! 🎃 Tonight is the night for all things spooky, so what better time to compose a spooky playlist! Japanese music is one of my passions outside of gaming and it seems like a difficult task to find any decent playlists online – so I thought I’d make one! I actually posted a Hallowe’en song list four years ago when I was just getting into Japanese music (utaite in particular) which featured 13 songs perfect for the spooky season, but since I’ve been listening to this type of music for a number of years now, I’ve added to my own playlist since then.

In this post, I’ve linked another 13 songs that are great to listen to around Hallowe’en. The genres of these songs are quite varied, but they are all by Japanese artists. If you haven’t seen my previous playlist from 2019, you can check that out here!

Top 10 Anime OP/ED Songs #AniMay 2023

Welcome to the yearly tradition of anime song sharing here at gamergal.exe! During May, I always like to do some kind of anime themed content on the blog and since I’m a huge music lover, sharing my favourite theme songs from the anime I’ve seen over the past 12 months is a bit of a highlight for me. Top 15 Vocaloid Songs of 2021

Aside from gaming, my next biggest passion is music with Vocaloid being a massive inspiration and key factor to one of my favourite sub-genres, Utaite. I like to include my favourite new songs each month at the end of my Monthly Summary posts, but considering how much I value music in my day-to-day life, I don’t give it that much attention on the blog. Since August 31st was Hatsune Miku’s 15th Anniversary, I decided to drag this post, featuring my favourite 15 Vocaloid songs of 2021, out of the drafts folder – 7 of which feature Hatsune Miku. I was unsure how best to organise these songs as choosing 15 favourites was difficult enough, never mind ranking them individually, so I decided to list them as a timeline progressing throughout the year. I’m still learning Japanese, so I’ve chosen these songs based on their musical qualities rather than for their lyrics. Now let’s get started!

The J-Pop Tag

Today, I’m straying away from my usual topic of gaming to share my other passion – music. This post is my take on ‘The K-Pop Tag’ by Michelle over at a Geek Girl’s Guide, but I changed it to J-Pop instead. For me, J-Pop covers a whole variation of Japanese music including J-Rock, EDM, Utaite and Vocaloid music as well as the typical Pop chart music (although theirs is so much different to what we have here in the UK), so you can expect a selection of genres within this post.

Hatsune Miku: 13th Anniversary

August 31st marked Hatsune Miku‘s [初音ミク] 13th anniversary! As a fan of Vocaloid music (and genres stemmed from Vocaloid), I decided to put together a post containing 13 songs that come to mind when I think “Miku” and a short bio about each producer. I’ve written the English and Japanese titles for both the songs and the artists of each listing in case anyone will find this useful.

As Hallowe’en is my favourite time of the year, I thought I’d share my Hallowe’en music playlist. Other than gaming, music is another huge part of my life and I suppose you could say I have an obscure taste. I understand this post probably won’t be of interest to my usual audience, but the utattemita community means a lot to me and I’d love to show my appreciation for these artists once in a while.
