Happy Hallowe’en! I’ve spent the majority of this month in the Hallowe’en spirit, dedicating almost all my free time to horror games. I’ve played a lot of games this month and it’s been a pleasant experience to play some different types of games for a change.
If you’re looking for a game to play this Hallowe’en, myself and WesleyWhale have got you covered! Throughout October, we’ve both taken the time to investigate some horror games on Steam. We decided to pick a handful of small games so we could get them finished in order to give a decent review for each of them.
This list also features a few free games, so if you’re looking for something very last minute then there are options! Steam also has a Hallowe’en sale on right now so I’ll leave the current price list with each game too!
Developed by Nippon Ichi Software Inc, Yomawari: Night Alone is a horror adventure game originally released in Japan on Playstation Vita in October 2015. The game was later released in English for Vita and Steam in October 2016 and has also been released this month for the Nintendo Switch along with its sequel, Midnight Shadows. I decided now would be the perfect time to finally get into my Steam version with Hallowe’en just around the corner.
The Hakuoki Otome Visual Novel adventure continues with Edo Blossoms, the second and final section to the Hakuoki Shinkai: Fuukaden series released on PC by Idea Factory in March 2018. I played the first half, Kyoto Winds, back in May so I’ve been intrigued to finish the whole story… And now I have, 100% completed in fact.
I was nominated by Alex Sigsworth, The Purple Prose Mage for my second Sunshine Blogger Award. We’re both taking part in Normal Happenings’ “The Games That Define Us” next month which you should all keep your eyes out for!
Last time I answered these questions, I did a post myself and then nominated my recent blogging partner WesleyWhale to answer my questions. This time, we’ve decided to answer them in a joint post as we plan to write some stuff together in the future. Let us know what you think!
With HRX coming up, there are very few changes with this patch so it will be fairly short. There are plenty of skins though with quite a few Guardian’s getting some love. Patch 5.20 will be released on Monday 29th October for PC according to the recent patch schedule and will be released for console later in the week.
My favourite time of year is almost here and now the Hallowe’en festivities have landed in Tyria! The Mad King’s Labyrinth is my favourite part of Guild Wars 2’s seasonal activities and I can’t wait to get back into playing for the next few weeks!
