October has been completely dedicated to Hallowe’en! I love the spooky season most of all, so what better time to play a bunch of horror games to get in the mood. So, let’s take another look at which games myself and WesleyWhale got stuck into this month!Continue reading “Monthly Summary: October 2020”
After my slight gaming lull in August, I feel like I’ve redeemed myself during September. I somehow managed to completed 10 games, publish 8 blog posts and still have enough time to no-life Smite… all in all, it’s been a good month.
With September over, it also means it’s time to pull out the horror games and get into a spooky mood! I have a huge list of games to play with the run up to Hallowe’en and I’m itching to get started. But before I do, here’s what I got up to during September!Continue reading “Monthly Summary: September 2020”
August seems to have flown by even faster than the rest of the year. What have I even done this month? Good question. I’ve still been in a bit of a gaming lull if I’m honest and I can count the amount of games I’ve played on one hand… That being said, I’ve got big plans for the next few months.
July has been quiet on the gaming front due to my lack of enthusiasm for gaming. I’ve been so excited to play Collar X Malice for months so I put off starting anything heavy until my copy arrived. Unfortunately, my copy ended up arriving a week late so I feel like I’ve wasted a lot of time just sitting in limbo. However, we’re back on track and there’s actually a lot of games I’m looking forward to playing after my recent dip.
As if half of 2020 has passed already! Although I can’t wait for this year to be over, I often wonder what I’ve done with all this time. Maybe I should’ve used my lockdown time wisely…
Since my New Year Goals have had to be written off with my Japan trip being cancelled and house-hunting put on the shelf for the time being, my focuses have switched. Since I’ve physically not been able to do what I wanted to, I’ve fallen to my backlog in the hopes of completing as many games as I can during this write-off of a year. I’m aiming for 60 (although I’ll settle with 50) and I’ve just reached the halfway mark at 30 games so far!
With that in mind, let’s take a look at the past month (I’ve switched up the layout of this a little):
It’s all been very odd with the lockdown still in full force, but with businesses planning to open up again next month, it’s looking like things are moving forward in the UK, but I guess nobody really knows how it’s going to pan out. Meanwhile, from the shelter of my home (that I’ve only left 3 times to go on 3 short walks in the past 11 weeks), I’ve been putting a lot of hours into a variety of games – although I seem to really be enjoying visual novels this month. I’ve also noticed a trend in my gaming patterns that show I’m actually playing games that I’ve bought recently rather than letting them all gather virtual dust in my backlog!
So let’s take a look back at everything I’ve been up to during May:
This last month has been a very strange time for us all. I know a lot of people are finding the lockdown incredibly difficult, which is totally understandable, but I’m left feeling a little guilty for somewhat enjoying hiding myself away from the world. There’s no doubt I’m a complete shut in – I’ve only left the house on one occasion in the past 7 weeks and I’m not even beginning to feel stir crazy. Unfortunately, my boyfriend had to go back to work as an essential worker, so I’ve been hiding out in my family home for the past 4 weeks without seeing him (which has definitely been the worst part), however, we have been spending a lot more time gaming online together than usual.
Well, last month I said February was the worst month of my life… Now we have a winner! March has been a complete nightmare. I apologize for starting this post on a downer, but it gets better – I promise!
“2020 is going to be the best year ever”, I say as I make a note of all the major plans I have for this year – the year I decide to step out of my comfort zone and do the things I’ve wanted to do for a while. Well, here we are 2 months later and this past week has been officially been the worst of my life.
January has been a strange month. I’m not sure if it’s just me, but it seems to have dragged despite my fresh optimism for the year ahead. I’ve had a pretty productive month aside from gaming too, mainly focusing on planning our trip to Japan in March and also trying my hand at drawing (for the first time since I was doing my GCSEs). I’ve also been playing my guitar every night for the past week and studying Japanese most nights throughout the month too. I’m enjoying this routine and plan to keep it up!
