Completions List: 2022

It’s another brand new year which means it’s time to take a look back at my Gaming Completions for 2022 with the help of my trusty spreadsheet filled with my gaming achievements over the past 12 months before I start afresh for 2023! It’s become a tradition for me to document the games I’ve completed throughout the year, and it also seems like 35 is the magic number when it comes to tallying up all the games I’ve marked as finished, whether that be 100% completed or just rolled credits on – but any games I may have dropped for whatever reason don’t count (there’s never usually any anyway). I’m happy with the progress I made this year, so let’s take a look!

Games Completed: 35

100% Games: 22

5 ★ Games: 2

2022 Releases: 15

Longest Playtime: Piofiore: Episodio 1926 (~75hrs)

Platforms: Steam (23 games), Nintendo Switch (5 games), PS4 (2 games), PS2 (1 game), Xbox 360 (2 games), Other PC (2 games)

gamergal.exe’s Ranking System:

5★ – Exceptional. I couldn’t fault it in any way.

4★ – Very good. Could maybe do with a few tweaks to make it even better.

3★ – Average. Nothing particularly special, but good enough to enjoy.

2★ – Below average. Needs adjustments / I didn’t get on with the game.

1★ – Poor. Whether it’s broken or just plain dull, I don’t recommend this game.

0★ – Trash. This should never have been created.

Here’s the image showing the ‘box art’ for all 35 games I completed, each with a star rating and a trophy icon for those I got all the achievements for. These games are listed in the order I played them, starting from the top left and continuing in rows until reaching the end of the year at the bottom right.

I thought it was pretty amazing that I finished 35 games with 15 of them being new releases for both 2021 and 2022 – totally coincidental! I played some pretty good games throughout the year, but I only managed to find 2 games that I gave ★★★★★ to rather than the 6 I gave out last year, however, the ★★★★ category is much fuller than last year’s stats so it sort of balances itself out there. Steam came out on top for my most used platform which didn’t come as much of a surprise, but the release of Steam Replay was a very nice Christmas present this year. I also used Nintendo’s Year in Review so here’s some of my stats from those (I think it’s pretty obvious what I use my Switch for):

Below, you can find my original Twitter thread featuring all the games I completed with a short summary of my thoughts for each game. You can also find all my game summaries on my Steam Curator page, or for those that I played on Steam anyway – which makes up the vast majority.

I’ve also listeed all 35 games into star ranked categories so you can clearly see which ones I enjoyed the most and those which I wouldn’t recommend. They’re listed in alphabetical order within each sub category and not ranked individually by favouritism.

I managed to reach my completion goal of 35 games, so I’m setting my target for another 35 during 2023. I’m planning to focus a lot more on my backlog this year though as there aren’t a huge amount of announced 2023 releases that I’m looking forward to and I have a massive list of great games that I really need to tackle. I’ve already started a new thread for my 2023 completions, so you can follow me over on Twitter to see my progress and thoughts on the games I play.

How many games did you finish last year? Were you happy with your progress?

Thanks for reading and Happy New Year!
