Steam Summer Sale 2018

The Steam Summer Sale is back! This time of year is by far the best time to pick up any games you’ve been eyeing up as the Summer Sale has the biggest selection of game sales throughout the year. The sale began on 22nd June and will end on 5th July 2018.

As well as the sale, a new mini clicker game has also been added this year, Saliens. This game is similar to the summer monster game Steam featured back in 2015 as part of the summer sale, and by playing the game you are entered into prize draws to win a variety of games! The game prizes change every day, so if there’s a game you want, it’s the time to play! The longer the participation in the game, the higher the chance of winning the prize draw.

Playing the game also awards players with the traditional trading cards, used to craft Steam badges. They can also be earned by completing your personalised recommendation queues up to 3 times and by purchasing games. These cards can be traded on the Market, but they will disappear at the end of the Summer Sale, so make sure you craft your badges before then!

I have 70+ games on my wishlist at the moment and there’s only one that isn’t on sale (excluding preorders)… That’s pretty damn good. Saying that, the games I particularly had in mind haven’t been given huge discounts so I’m not sure what I’ll be purchasing this year. I still have a week to decide if anything tickles my fancy, but in the meantime, here’s a list of the games I’m mainly considering:

  • Crystalline (Was £14.99 / 15% off / Now £12.74)
  • Bayonetta (Was £ 14.99 / 66% off / Now £5.09)
  • Supipara – Chapter 1, Spring Has Come! (Was £10.99 / 50% off / Now £5.49)
  • Destiny’s Princess: A War Story, A Love Story (Was £11.99 / 65% off / Now £4.19)
  • Umineko When They Cry
    • Question Arcs (Was £18.99 / 35% off / Now £12.34)
    • Answer Arcs (Was £23.79 / 40% off / Now £14.27)
  • Ori and the Blind Forest (Was £14.99 / 50% off / Now £7.49)

Most of these are still quite pricey, and since I’ve been on holiday this month, I don’t really have the funds to buy much. I have a huge list of games I’m still needing to finish before I start anything else, and the list is long enough to carry me into the Winter Sale at the rate I’m going!

I’ll make a separate post on my purchases when the sale is coming to an end! Let me know what you have/will be purchasing in the sale, and if you have any recommendations then please let me know!
